Deadly shooting incident in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Police say an individual found in the 1000 block of Elco Street suffered from gunshot wounds and later died at a hospital.

According to Ravi Sheth with the Chesapeake Police Department, police were dispatched to Elco Street at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday for an injured person call.

When officers arrived, they found Richard Alexander, 26, with gunshot wounds. Alexander was later pronounced dead at Norfolk General Hospital.

Seth says the incident is being investigated as a homicide and anyone with information is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
