Chesapeake medical center names COO

Robert F. Guanci to serve as COO

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Chesapeake Regional Medical Center has named Robert F. Guanci as its chief operating officer.

Guanci brings more than 25 years of health care experience to the organization and most recently served as the vice president of operations at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, according to a news release.

Prior to that, he was the administrative director of Pharmacy and Ancillary Services at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital for 15 years.

“We are honored to have someone of Robert Guanci’s caliber joining our organization,” said Wynn L. Dixon, Jr., president and CEO of Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. “His wealth of experience and knowledge will serve only to further advance our reputation as a top regional health care destination.”

Guanci’s responsibilities as COO include managing the organization’s business operations, implementing policies and procedures and integrating the strategic plan.
