Car being towed catches fire on I-64

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A vehicle burst into flames Tuesday afternoon along Interstate 64 near the High Rise Bridge as it was being towed.

According to Sgt. L. W. Brown with the Virginia State Police, a tire on the vehicle rubbed against the tow truck and caught fire about a quarter mile from the bridge in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64.

No one was injured and further details surrounding the fire have not been released at this time. Stay with WAVY.com for more as it comes in.
