CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Police say the bodies recovered from the water at Great Bridge Lock Park Friday afternoon were of a Chesapeake man and his grandson.
Officer Leo Kosinski with the Chesapeake Police Department said a report was received that a body was discovered in the 100 block of North Battlefield Boulevard at 9:15 a.m. Kelly O'Sullivan with the Chesapeake Police Department told WAVY.com this is in the Great Bridge Lock Park.
Fire crews responded and found the body of an adult male, Allen R. Williams, 60. Koskinski said the Williams' death does not appear to be suspicious.
A vacant vehicle was reportedly found nearby. Just before 2:30 p.m. Friday, Kosinski said divers recovered the body of Williams' 7-year-old grandson. Kosinski says Williams' grandson was from North Carolina and was in town visiting his grandfather for the week.
