NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Norfolk police say a burglary and carjacking on the same street are connected.

Detectives say a man returned to his home on Dure Road just before noon Monday and saw an unshaven, white male, possibly in his 30s parked out front in a green minivan. The victim was able to identify part of the license plate as XPY and told police he believed the vehicle could have been a Ford Windstar.

Shortly after entering his home, the victim saw the vehicle pull away and encountered a second suspect inside his home who then fled the scene and ran to a neighbor's house. That suspect then encountered a second victim inside his vehicle. At which point, the suspect displayed a handgun and stole the victim's 1991 Silver Lincoln Town Car with Virginia tags JVX3634.

Numerous weapons were also stolen in the incident, police said.

The victim described the second suspect as a white male, possibly in his late 20s, 5'10" tall, between 190 and 200 pounds, wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt.

Investigators are searching for the suspects. If you know anything that could help police in this case you're asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
