Bowling with the Stars for CHKD

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Local TV stars helped Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters strike it rich for this weekend's Bowling With The Stars event.

Circle in the Bridge , a group of career women and mothers, organized the event.

10 On Your Side's Stephanie Harris , Liz Palka , and Nicole Livas joined other local morning and evening teams at the Lynnhaven Lanes in Virginia Beach Saturday afternoon.

Major League Baseball player and Chesapeake native David Wright was also on hand to sign autographs.

"I think they see that it's for the hospital. CHKD takes any children no matter if they have insurance or not, and I think that although we have our own things we need to spend our money for, they realize that's a worthy cause, and it's fun. We're out here, they're getting to spend money, but have fun while doing it," said organizer Misti McCarver.

Last year's event raised more than $38,000.
