ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - State Police are investigating a fire that burned in an abandoned building on the Eastern Shore. They are working to determine if the fire was set by a serial arsonist.
Friday night's fire is the 37th fire in 41 days according to investigators. Accomack County dispatchers tell WAVY.com the call for the fire in the Parksley neighborhood came in at 8:49.
Friday, State Police held a news conference to discuss the fires they say were set by a serial arsonist. Investigators say they believe the arsonist is an Accomack County Resident.
There is no word yet on if the fire that burned Friday night was intentionally set. Dispatch says no one was hurt fighting the fire.
