SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Police charged a Suffolk woman with four felonies after she allegedly hit someone with her car in a cemetery - on purpose - then drove off.
Patricia Ann Devine, age 20, was charged with unlawful wounding, hit and run felony and two counts of child endangerment.
The victim, 19-year-old Kassie Haines, told police she was cutting through Cedar Hill Cemetery with friends Thursday, when Devine pulled into the cemetery, hit her with her vehicle and drove off. Haines went to Sentara Obici Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police found Devine at her home in the 900 block of Manning Road and arrested her.
An investigation revealed that Devine's thirteen month old son and a toddler were in the vehicle at the time of the incident. Haines apparently dated the father of Devine's child.
Devine was transported to Western Tidewater Regional Jail Thursday night. She was released on $3,000 bond.
