CURRITUCK COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) - The Currituck County Sheriff confirmed the body of Paul Jandreau was found in his home, and detectives charged his wife with first degree murder. Lateisha Jandreau is apparently a professional body builder who currently works at Xe formerly known as Blackwater located in Moyock.
The Currituck County Sheriff's office also listed Lateisha Jandreau's brother, Eugene Askew, as a person of interest in the investigation.
Askew is said to be from Rocky Mount N.C. and has family in Windsor County. Authorities said he frequents Suffolk, Elizabeth City N.C. and Gates County N.C.
He is 39-years-old and is described as having a slim build by the Currituck County Sheriff's office.
Anyone with information on Askew's whereabouts is asked to call the Currituck County Sheriff's Office at 252-232-2216.
When Paul Jandreau did not show up for work Wednesday morning, his friends at BAE Systems in Norfolk called WAVY.com for help.
"We got a search warrant for the home when Mr. Jandreau's wife became uncooperative," said Sheriff Susan Johnson.
Sheriff Johnson said deputies showed up at the Jandreau home Saturday morning, announced their arrival, and then systematically searched the home. "We went room to room. When we got to a back bedroom, we found Ms. Jandreau balled up in a closet. She seemed surprised that we found her."
Paul Jandreau's body was taken to the medical examiner for an autopsy. The Sheriff places time of death between Tuesday night June 29, and Wednesday morning June 30th. Mr. Jandreau was not at work Wednesday morning which concerned his co-workers.
Sheriff Johnson and her deputies found Jandreau's body concealed in the garage. No other suspects are being questioned at this time. Ms. Jandreau is being held at the Currituck County Detention Facility without bond, and her first court appearance is on July 7th.
