PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Snow caused interstate closures and hundreds of accidents Friday afternoon and evening throughout Hampton Roads.
According to Hampton police, as of 7:50 p.m. Friday, officers responded to 37 accidents without injuries and six with minor injuries Friday afternoon and evening.
From 3 p.m. through 9 p.m. Friday, Suffolk police responded to more than 76 accidents.
As of 4:45 p.m., Virginia State Police report troopers were still handling 157 calls for service, with 130 of those being traffic crashes and another 19 for disabled vehicles.
The following is a breakdown of calls for service by Virginia State Police from 10 a.m. Friday (Jan. 25) through 9 p.m. Friday (Jan. 25):

An Icy Conditions Advisory was issued for SB I-664 at Monitor Merrimac Memorial Bridge Tunnel South in Newport News at 6 p.m.
As of 6:30 p.m., Jolly Pond Road in James City County was closed due to ice on on the road.
