Teen killed in Va. Beach shooting

VIRGINIA BEACH,Va - Virginia Beach Police have identified the victim in an overnight shooting as 18-year-old Joseph Michael Williams, Jr. of Virginia Beach.

Police say Williams was shot Wednesday night around 9 on Old Virginia Beach Road between First Colonial and Birdneck.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Williams lying in the road suffering from gunshot wounds. Williams was transported to Virginia Beach General Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Margie Hobbs, Virginia Beach Police Public Information Officer tells WAVY.com that at this time they do not know what lead up to the shooting.

No suspect information has been released at this time.

This case remains under investigation by the Homicide Squad.

Callers remain anonymous and could be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward if their information leads to an arrest.
