PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Homicide detectives are investigating a possible link between the recent stabbing deaths of two women. Police are now saying 47-year-old Gloria M. Johnson, AKA "Puddin," who was found dead on Wilcox Avenue a week ago was stabbed multiple times. Until now police had kept quiet on her cause of death.
Johnson is the second homicide victim in Portsmouth so far this year.
The first victim was 64-year old Linda Carroll who was found stabbed to death in her home in the Effingham Plaza apartments on Madison Street on February 25th. Police said a neighbor found the woman in a back bedroom not breathing and called 911.
Investigators say they are checking into a connection in the two cases because of the similarities.
