Pearl Harbor memorial to be held Sunday

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Pearl Harbor Survivors Association will hold its annual memorial service on board Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek, Sunday.

It is the 67th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, where more than 3600 American sevicemen were wounded or killed.  The unexpected attack propelled the United States into World War II.

The service, held at the granite memorial marker on the base, will begin at 12:55 p.m., the exact time of day Japanese planes began their attack on the American base in Hawaii.

Guest speakers include Admiral Jonathan W. Greenert, Commander of the U.S. Fleet Forces Command.
