VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - In the first two months of the year, police say at least nine residential burglaries occurred in the the Lakes section of Virginia Beach.

The robberies occurred on Club House Road, Rosebriar Court, Green Lakes Circle, Corrine Lane Chantry Drive and Diana Lee Court between the beginning of January and the end of February. Police say the windows or doors in some cases were not locked.

Police are looking for a suspect or suspects involved in these burglaries. They also offer the following crime prevention suggestions to residents:

  1. Keep doors and windows lock
  2. Do not leave keys or garage door openers in your vehicle
  3. Turn on exterior lights at night to allow neighbors and police to watch your home.
  4. Trim bushes and trees to reduce hiding places
  5. Be aware of suspicious activity in your neighborhood

Anyone with information on these burglaries is asked to call 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
