CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Three unsolved homicides have been reported in less than a month in Chesapeake's South Norfolk area.

Police told WAVY.com Wednesday it does not appear as though the following cases are related:

WAVY.com spoke with Parson's mother, who is anxious for her son's killer to be arrested.

"No reason, no good, no reason in the world to take an innocent young man's life who's getting his life together," Adrian Ivy said.

Parson, Ivy's only son, was shot and killed during a house party last weekend.

"I can only look at a picture, see some videos but he's always in my hear and he touched a lot of people and I'm so glad he did because he was loved," Ivy said.

She said her son worked as a dock hand at Colonna's Shipyard in Norfolk.

"He was just a young person just living life, liked to party, happy all the time," Parson's cousin James Parson said. "I never knew him to be in any type of trouble."

As Ivy makes arrangements for a Friday afternoon funeral, she tells WAVY.com she hopes police will soon make an arrest.

"They need to get this person off the streets," Ivy said. "We don't need no more of our young people to die."

Police ask anyone with information on the three homicides to contact Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
