Beating death jury
selection

- The Commonwealth Attorney's Office says jury selection is underway in Norfolk Circuit Court for the trial of two teen girls accused in an East Ocean View mob beating death.
Nichelle D. Carter and Ieshia Rountree, both 17,
are accused of murder, lynching, robbery, malicious wounding and weapon charges in the death of James Robertson, 19. Robertson and two friends were beaten, stripped and robbed near the corner of 16th Bay Street and Pleasant Avenue in July 2007.

Police charged ten people in the deadly beating.
Carter and Rountree are the first defendants to stand trial.
Skyler Hayward and Melvin Arrington pleaded guilty to murder and other charges.
