PORTSMOUTH, Va (WAVY) - Doctors may have solved the mystery that killed a Hampton Roads toddler. Christian Susko died last week at VCU hospital in Richmond.
Two months ago he began having uncontrollable seizures and was put into a coma to control them.
He suffered unexplained medical problems his whole life. His father told WAVY.com doctors now believe he had a chromosome disorder so rare it doesn't even have a name.
The Susko's are planning to start a non-profit organization, for more needed research on rare chromosome disorders.
Christian's viewing will be held Friday evening, August 27 at the Holloman and Brown Funeral home on Kempsville Road in Virginia Beach. A memorial service will be held at Wave Church on Great Neck Road in Virginia Beach on Saturday August 28.
Neighbors and friends are also planning an event to help the family with medical and funeral expenses. It will be called "The Day of Caring" and will be held at the North Landing Beach Campground on Saturday, September 4. There will be food, water slides for kids, snow cones, cotton candy, and much more.
