NORFOLK, Va. - Governor Tim Kaine announced a public health emergency Monday which makes it easier to track possible cases of the Swine Flu.

There are no cases in Virginia at this time but there are 40 cases reported in the United States. In  Mexico, there are more than 1600 cases and 149 deaths.

The C-D-C advises americans to stay out of Mexico unless its absolutely necessary and that puts a Norfolk couple in a bad position.

"We're flying 40 people to Cancun for our wedding next week," Tyler Finnerty told WAVY.com.

The Swine Flu outbreak in Mexico is giving the bride-to-be more than her share of wedding jitters.

"It's been stressful. I have puffy eyes, but we're moving through it."

She is considering cancelling the trip.

Health experts caution there is no reason for panic but some are worried Swine Flu could turn into a pandemic.

Infectious disease expect Dr. Edward Oldfield says the good news about this new flu is it responds to medication.

"It's competely sensitive to Tamiflu and Rolenza." said Dr. Oldfield.

Experts say the best way to protect yourself is to use tissues to cover coughs and sneezes, then throw them out. Wash your hands frequently and consider carrying hand sanitizer.
