Illness forces NN school to close

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Hampton Roads Academy in Newport News will be closed Friday, November 6 because of the number of students out sick.

The private school says the move is preemptive, and is hoping a three day weekend will help with the attendance.

Some sporting events will still take place, including Friday's soccer and football games.

The Headmaster said the campus is clean, but the number of absences is alarming.

The school will reopen Monday.
