VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A woman was reportedly stabbed in the chest during a fight at a party along Lake Edward Drive in Virginia Beach Wednesday night.

According to Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department, officers responded to a call for a large fight in the 800 block of Lake Edward Drive around 11:15 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found a female victim suffering from cuts to her chest.

Preliminary investigation discovered the victim was at a party when a large fight broke out. That fight then moved outside.

Moyers told WAVY.com the victim was trying to leave the party and got in the way of the fight. She then said she felt a burning sensation and realized she was injured.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Partygoers were intoxicated and not cooperating with police, Moyers said. There is no suspect information at this time and it remains unknown what was used to cut the victim.
