NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - A woman is facing felony charges after officials say she assaulted officers as they tried to arrest her Saturday.
Lou Thurston with the Newport News Police Department told WAVY.com officers were trying to arrest Angel Phillips, 28, in the area of Colberts Lane and Jefferson Avenue on an outstanding warrant from Hampton.
“During the arrest, Ms. Phillips kicked and spit on/at three officers,” Thurston said. Phillips is now facing three felony counts of assaulting a law enforcement officer in Newport News.
It is unknown what charge Phillips was wanted on in Hampton.
