YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - Troopers say the same man could be responsible for stealing wallets out of women's purses while they shop at local Wal-Mart stores.
According to Lt. Dennis Ivey with the York County Sheriff's Office, a 50 to 60-year-old man waits until women shopping are not paying attention to their carts, reaches into their open purses and takes their wallets.
The man then leaves the store and drives away in an older model red and white pickup truck.
Ivey says the Newport News Police Department has also reported a similar incident.
Anyone with information on the man's identity is asked to Contact Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
