DARE COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) - A weapon was discharged during a robbery at Roanoke Island last week, according to deputies.

Chief Deputy Steve Hoggard with the Dare County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to an armed robbery in the area of Sarah Mae Carver Lane and Scarborough Street at 9:30 p.m. Feb. 23.

The victim told deputies he was approached by two black men and one black female and robbed at gunpoint. The victim went on to say that a weapon was discharged during a struggle. No one was injured.

The victim said the men were wearing hoodie-type coats that "obscured their facial features."
