VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a man responsible for robbing a bank Friday morning.
Tonya Borman with the Virginia Beach Police Department said the robbery occurred just before 11:45 a.m. at the BB&T bank located at 930 First Colonial Rd. An unknown black male entered the bank and displayed a handgun, demanding money.
After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported, Borman said.
The suspect is described as standing 6’ wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, white tennis shoes and black sunglasses at the time of the robbery. He was captured on the bank’s surveillance system.
