VB checkpoints net 10 DUI arrests

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) -  

The Virginia Beach Police Department has released the results of its traffic safety checkpoints on New Year’s Eve.

Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department said four DUI arrests were made in the 1700 block of North Great Neck Road between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Four traffic summonses were issued and one drug arrest was also made.

At Independence Boulevard and Interstate 264, six DUI arrests were made between 12:45 a.m. and 2:15 a.m. 12 traffic summonses were issued, four arrests made for driving on a suspended license, two arrests made for outstanding misdemeanor warrants and one arrests was made for drunk in public.

Moyers said 35 officers participated between the two checkpoints.
