PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - One person was injured during a robbery attempt in November, and Portsmouth Police need help finding the suspects.
Det. C.T. Durham with the Portsmouth Police Department said the robbery attempt occurred in the 600 block of Phoebus Street on Nov. 15 just before midnight. A woman was getting out of her vehicle when two suspects approached her and one placed a handgun to her head. When the victim told the suspects she didn’t have any money, they went to leave the scene.
The suspects were confronted by security guards who happened to witness the attempted robbery. Durham said as the suspects fled the scene, one turned and fired a weapon at the victims, hitting one of them.
The victim was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to Durham, another robbery attempt was made about 30 minutes prior and police believe the same suspects were involved. A description of the suspects was not provided.
