SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Police say a mother has been charged for leaving her toddler in her car's front passenger seat while it was still running.
According to Diana Klink with the City of Suffolk, 27-year-old Ann Marie Dupree was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Klink said an officer saw the child alone in a parked car Feb. 26 just before 11 a.m. in the 800 block of W. Washington Street. The child was playing with the window switch and was alone in the car.
Dupree was located inside of a store close to the car using an ATM machine and charged with child neglect and delinquency of a minor.
