YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - Three men have been arrested in connection to a copper theft that occurred at the Dominion Virginia Power substation in York County.
Lt. Dennis Ivey with the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said suspects broke into the substation and stole copper wiring and other items between Jan. 3 and Jan. 11.
During the course of the investigation, three suspects were identified. Gary Dobbins, 50, of York County and Christopher Galloway, 31, were arrested on Jan. 18 and charged with grand larceny, possession of burglary tools, intentionally damaging a facility used to furnish electrical power and selling or distributing stolen property.
The same day, a search warrant was conducted on the home of Mark Hermann, 48, of York County. Ivey said a large amount of stolen material was recovered in the operation and deputies were able to solve a theft case from December.
Hermann has been charged with two counts of grand larceny, possession of burglary tools, intentionally damaging a facility used to furnish electrical power and selling or distributing stolen property.
