GLOUCESTER, Va. (WAVY) - The Gloucester County Sheriff's Office has charged three teens in a series of larcenies. Officials say the teens are connected to numerous larcenies from vehicles in the Hayes area of Gloucester County.

The teens have been accused of stealing mostly electronic items, cash and credit cards from vehicles in the area between August 31 and September 5. A total of 16 reports were filed with the Gloucester County Sheriff's Office within that time period.

The teens are also accused of setting a golf cart worth $1,200 on fire on September 1.

The total loss for items stolen has exceeded several thousands of dollars, according to officials.

Investigators say the juveniles all reside in the same area where the incidents have been reported.

The 16 and 17-year-old have been charged and are being held at the Merrimac Detention Center.

The 15-year-old was charged and released to his parents.

There are still several cases that are being investigated.

No word on whether or not any of the stolen items were ever recovered.

Additional charges are pending.
