CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Police have now charged a 16-year-old girl with malicious wounding and malicious wounding by a mob in an attack on an ex-NFL player in October.
Kelly O'Sullivan with the Chesapeake Police Department said the teen is currently being held at Chesapeake Juvenile Services. Originally, detectives did not have probable cause to arrest the girl, but with the addition of new information, police were able to charge her in connection.
In May, James Richardson-Jackson pled guilty to malicious wounding by mob and recruiting for a gang as well as two other charges in connection to the beating of Ed Beard in October.
The 71-year-old is a former linebacker for the San Francisco 49ers.
Three other juveniles are still scheduled to stand trial.
