JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man wanted for robbing a gas station in James City County Tuesday afternoon.
According to Stephen Rubino with the James City County Police Department, the suspect entered a Shell gas station at 1301 Jamestown Road just after 5:30 p.m.
Rubino says the suspect was armed with a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk ran from the store after the suspect got behind the register.
The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash register, then ran toward the Colony Square Shopping Center behind the gas station where he was picked up by two women driving a black sedan.
According to Rubino, the suspect is described as a light skinned black or Hispanic man, standing 5'10" to 6' tall. At the time of the crime, he was wearing a long sleeved black shirt, tan pants with possibly knee pads under them and black and white tennis shoes. He was also wearing panty hose over his face.
Anyone with information on the man's identity is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
