Suspect steals puppy from mall

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A woman walked out of a pet store with a stolen puppy on March 2, according to police.

Jimmy Barnes with the Virginia Beach Police Department said the unknown woman stole a Maltese/Shih Tzu puppy from the Pet-Go-Round store at Pembroke Mall by concealing the dog in her jacket.

The suspect is described as a black female between the ages of 20 and 25 standing about 5’6 and weighing 130 to 145 pounds.

Anyone who may be able to identify the woman is asked call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or the Virginia Beach Police Department at 757-385-2703.
