DARE COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) - Nathan Summerfield has been indicted by a grand jury on charges of first degree murder for his role in the death of Lynn Jackenheimer, according to the Dare County Sheriff's Office.
According to Chief Deputy Steve Hoggard with the Dare County Sheriff's Office, a grand jury returned a true bill of indictment for first degree murder during court Monday, Sept. 10.
Summerfield is accused of killing Jackenheimer by strangling and stabbing her while on vacation in the Outer Banks. Jackenheimer’s body was discovered on July 14 in Frisco, 10 days after she was last seen.
