NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A woman providing home healthcare services pleaded guilty in Norfolk Tuesday to health care fraud.

According to Deanna Warren with the U.S. Attorney's Office, 57-year-old Angie Gilchrist of Suffolk could face up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 when she is sentenced in May.

Warren said Gilchrist, owner of a home healthcare business in Suffolk, provided temporary care to Medicaid recipients.

Gilchrist owned A-Z Alpha Omega In-Home Personal Care Service, LLC.

Gilchrist allegedly filed nearly 400 false claims with Medicaid, listing that her company had provided care to 38 Medicaid recipients, which never happened.

Gilchrist obtained $294,713 in health care benefit payments.
