Portsmouth fugitive arrested in NC

ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) - Police say a Portsmouth fugitive wanted for two robberies was arrested Wednesday in Onslow County, N.C.

According to Karen Parker-Chesson with the Norfolk Police Department, Kevelin Dontae Sears was wanted for robbing a Hooter's restaurant on N. Military Highway Aug. 25, 2012 and an attempted robbery of the Ace Cash Express, 6040 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Sept. 5, 2012.

Sears was apprehended Oct. 3 by US Marshals with the assistance of Norfolk police.

Parker-Chesson says Sears is awaiting extradition in North Carolina.
