PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Officials say a man was arrested following a police chase that spanned three cities during which he struck three other vehicles.
According to Ravi Sheth with the Chesapeake Police Department, Chesapeake officers attempted to stop the man for a traffic stop in the area of Portsmouth Boulevard and Doc Landing Road shortly after 11 a.m. Friday morning.
Sheth says the driver refused to stop and continued toward Portsmouth then Virginia Beach via Interstate 264.
When the car passed through Portsmouth, it "rammed Portsmouth police vehicles" at which point Portsmouth police got involved in the chase as well.
Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department said the suspect had struck two citizen vehicles and one Portsmouth sergeant's marked vehicle.
The pursuit ended at a dead end in the 5000 block of Bayside Road where the suspect, 30-year-old Christopher Harrison was taken into custody.
Sheth says charges for reckless driving, hit and run, felony eluding and driving on a suspended license will be pursued in multiple localities for Harrison.
