Perjury suspect assigned new attorney

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - A woman charged with perjury for lying about a sexual assault that landed an innocent man in prison for more than four years got a new attorney Thursday.
Elizabeth Coast's original attorney, Robert Saunders, withdrew due to a conflict of interest and Frederick Miller replaced him.
Johnathon Montgomery was granted a conditional pardon by Gov. Bob McDonnell last week. In 2008, Coast accused Montgomery of sexually assaulting her in 2000 while she was 10 and he was 14. Earlier this month, Coast admitted she had fabricated the story.
She has been charged with felony perjury and is due back in court Dec. 13.
