AHOSKIE, N.C. (WAVY) - Police say three suspects who allegedly shot a man sitting in his car later crashed their own car and were able to flee on foot.

According to the Ahoskie Police Department, police received a call of an assault involving a gun at approximately 12:30 p.m. on North Academy Street.

Police say the man was shot while sitting in his car and transported to a local hospital.

After collecting evidence, police were able to identify the following individuals as suspects in the case:

  • 18-year-old Brenyetta Johnteice Rascoe of Woodland, N.C.
  • 20-year-old John Jon Rascoe of Ahoskie, N.C., considered armed and dangerous
  • 22-year-old Jonathan Brioni Rascoe of Aulander, N.C., considered armed and dangerous

Police say the suspect vehicle overturned Thursday but the three suspects were able to flee before authorities got to the scene.
