VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Police say a suspect armed with a handgun got away with an undisclosed amount of cash after robbing a Virginia Beach convenience store Wednesday morning.

According to Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department, the robbery occurred just before 10 a.m. at the Happy Shopper/Citgo in the 900 block of Newtown Road.

Moyers said two employees were in the store at the time of the incident and the suspect fled the scene in a four-door silver vehicle.
