VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A 22-year-old man has been charged with animal cruelty after his 4-month-old cat died from blunt force trauma on March 1.

According to Wayne Gilbert with Virginia Beach Animal Control, officers were called to a home in the 1900 block of King Court for a report of a domestic incident. There, an animal control officer learned a kitten had been killed by its owner earlier in the day.

Further investigation revealed the cat, named Lola, died from blunt force trauma to the head. Gilbert said Kevin T. Bramble was placed under arrest and charged with felony animal cruelty. He is being held without bond at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center.

Gilbert said investigators are also working to learn if anyone sold or gave any pets to Bramble through websites like Craigslist. Investigators believe Bramble may have bought other animals.

Anyone with information should call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
