VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Former Norfolk police officer Kristin W. Harris was sentenced to 100 hours of community service for selling steroids and possessing marijuana.

According to Macie Pridgen with the Virginia Beach Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, Harris was indicted in August 2011 on 10 counts of sell/distribute anabolic steroids and one count of possession of marijuana.

Harris was employed with the City of Norfolk as a police officer during the time of the offenses in April, May and June 2011.

In addition to the community service hours, Pridgen says Harris was sentenced to two years of suspended jail time with good behavior for four years.
