Officer charged with embezzlement

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - The Chesapeake Police Department has arrested one of its own after a four-month investigation into an embezzlement.

Kelly O’Sullivan with the Chesapeake Police Department said Michael Mobley, 28, a five-year veteran of the department, has been charged with two counts of embezzlement.

Details into the embezzlement were not released, however O’Sullivan said Mobley has been on administrative leave without pay since the investigation began four months ago.
