NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) - Newport News Police need help catching suspects involved in several different robberies throughout the city.
Harold Eley with the Newport News Police Department said the first robbery occurred on Feb. 2 around 9 p.m. in the area of 45th Street and Madison Avenue. The female victim told police she was followed by a man who approached her, put a handgun to her head and demanded cash. She was unable to describe the suspect.
On Feb. 6, a woman was approached by three teenage males and one teenage female in the area of 34th Street and Roanoke Avenue around 9:45 p.m. One of the suspects asked her for a cigarette. When she said she didn’t have one, she was attacked by all four suspects and her bag was stolen.
On Feb. 9, two victims were sitting in their vehicle on Riverlands Drive around 3 a.m. when they were approached by a black male who displayed a handgun and demanded cash. No suspect information was provided.
The last robbery occurred on Feb. 10 around 9:45 p.m. in the area of 34th Street and Roanoke Avenue. The victim said he was riding his bicycle when two black males stopped him, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The victim reportedly recognized one of the suspects.
