PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Workers at the Portsmouth Humane Society report "Hope," the black Labrador mix found tethered and emaciated in Portsmouth has received five bids for adoption.

Workers say they will decide who is the best fit to take Hope home Oct. 12, the court date set for her owner, Louis Holloway, Jr.

Holloway faces animal cruelty charges.
