VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia Beach Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two men responsible for a home invasion early Wednesday morning.

Just after midnight, officers in Virginia Beach were dispatched to the 5800 block of Pickering Street for a report of a gunshot. Upon arrival, officers found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound, Grazia Moyers with the VBPD said.

Further investigation revealed two black male suspects wearing dark clothing forced their way into the home and demanded property from the victim. One of the suspects shot the victim in the foot, according to Moyers.

The victim’s mother was first thought to have been abducted, but was located in a neighbor’s yard by K9 units. Moyers said the victim’s mother jumped out of a second story window to escape from her home and received minor injuries from the fall.

She was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
