JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - Police need the public's help in identifying a suspect they say stole a car from a driveway and left it at a gas station in Hampton.

According to Stephen Rubino with the James City County Police Department, the 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck was stolen in the early morning hours of Dec. 18 from a driveway of a James City County home.

Rubino said the car was found at a Hampton 7-Eleven on Kecoughtan Road Dec. 19. Police say the suspect attempted to fill the car up with gas at 6:30 a.m. but the pump was not working. The suspect then fled on foot, leaving the car at the gas station.
