VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A Virginia Beach man was shot inside of his home by a burglary suspect in the middle of the night, according to police.
According to Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department, two Beach residents woke up shortly before 2 a.m. Monday morning in the 2900 block of Old Glory Road to voices at the back of their home and a door being kicked in.
Moyers says one of the residents walked into his dining room to see one suspect standing inside, pointing a weapon at him.
The suspect ran away on foot after he shot the resident in the leg, who was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the suspect is described as a black man, between the ages of 20 and 30 and wearing a hooded sweatshirt.
