HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Police say a pedestrian was struck while walking on Ivy Home Road in Hampton Tuesday evening.

According to Cpl. Mary Shackelford with the Hampton Police Division, the pedestrian was walking toward Kecoughtan Road just after 8 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle driving toward Ivy Home Road.

The man was struck near the intersection of the two streets and Shackelford says the vehicle kept going after the incident.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and is in stable condition at a local hospital, according to police.

Shackelford says the suspect vehicle is described as a two-door dark colored sedan.
