CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A man wearing a black cowboy hat got away with an unknown amount of cash when he robbed a Chesapeake bank Thursday afternoon.
According to Kelly O'Sullivan with the Chesapeake Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of Indian River Road at 1:25 p.m. It was reported the suspect entered the NAE Federal Credit Union, showed a gun, made demands and fled the scene in a green minivan.
O'Sullivan says the suspect is described as a white man, 38-40 years old, 5'9" with a slim build and wearing a black cowboy hat, sunglasses, a white long sleeved shirt and jeans during the time of the incident.
