ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) - A Hertford man will spend the rest of his life behind bars for killing a teen during a graduation party in 2010.
Antonio West was convicted of first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury and possession of stolen firearm, Chief Assistant District Attorney in the 1st District Nancy Lamb told WAVY.com.
In 2010, 18-year-old Daquan Brown was shot in the head during an outdoor party for his girlfrield in Elizabeth City. Three others were injured in the shooting.
West was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the first degree murder conviction. He received 157 months minimum to 198 months maximum in addition for the other offenses, to run consecutively to the life sentence.
